Tel Aviv holds emergency meeting on Gaza

Gaza! We will come

Tel Aviv is to hold an emergency meeting about the Israeli military campaign in the Gaza Strip which has so far killed almost 500 Palestinians. The Israeli troops launched a ground offensive against Gaza on Saturday night, following consecutive air strikes on more than 900 targets in strip. Israeli Minister of Industry, Trade, & Labor Eliyahu Eli Yishai Said, "Israel should crush Hamas," the Israeli Walla website quoted Israel Army Radio as saying on Sunday. Hamas however has warned Israel against the attacks, declaring that "We have prepared the statement of victory". The recent ground operation engaged Palestinian fighters against the Israeli army in four spots in the north, around Gaza City, Beit Hanun, Beit Lahiya and Jabaliya. Reports say Israelis have suffered heavy casualties due to the strong resistance of the Palestinian fighters. But Israeli officials have confirmed that only 30 soldiers have been wounded -two of them in critical condition. Gaza resistance fighters have also been retaliating by firing ten more rockets into Israeli cities despite intensified air and ground strikes on the coastal strip which Israel says are aimed at halting rocket firings. Two of the rockets were fired into western Negev and three hit Sderot city, according to Press TV correspondent. The week-long violence in the enclave has claimed lives of almost 500 Palestinians, injuring over 2700 others including women and children.
