Palestinian blows up Israeli tank

Gaza! We will come

A Palestinian fighter has blown up an Israeli army tank, killing himself in the incident, a spokesman for the Hamas military wing says. "The Israeli tank blew up in an Estishhadi Operation (one that seeks martyrdom)," said Abu Obaida, a Hamas military wing spokesman, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. Hamas Al-Aqsa TV station reported Tuesday that seven Israeli tanks were also hit by Hamas resistance fighters. The Gaza Strip has come under massive Israeli fire since December 27, when Tel Aviv launched a military campaign to put an end to rocket attacks against southern Israel. The Hamas movement, the democratically-elected government of the strip, demands a cessation of Israeli attacks and the opening of the Gaza border -- which has been closed due to the 18-month Israeli blockade. According to medics, at least 635 Palestinians have been killed and 3,040 others are wounded in the 11-day Israeli operation.
